Pamela Keables, Owner
My husband and I have five children ranging in age from two years to nine years old. My youngest two are twins who were born full-term without any medical interventions. Over the years we have also experienced several losses during pregnancy.
My journey into childbirth and working with families began with the birth of my first child in 2000. As a young, pregnant first-time mother I became very intrigued with all things birth related. My husband and I wanted to make informed decisions about who we chose to be our care provider and where we would give birth. I have given birth at a birth center, hospital and at home with labors ranging from 7 hours to nearly 48 hours. I have also breastfed all of my children for various lengths of time, including my twins.
I attended my first formal training to become a birth doula at Seattle Midwifery School (SMS) in 2004. I became a certified doula shortly after and extended my training into postpartum doula care, childbirth and lactation education. Since my first training at SMS I have taken additional courses and continued my training in areas such as pressure points, reflexology and using a rebozo. After my twins were born I took a short time off to focus on family. During my break I have continued my training through Northwest Academy of Healing Arts and am now trained in Reflexology. I will be offering Swedish Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Infant Massage and several other services beginning in 2010.
